Robert L. Dautel, Sr., 88, of Morrisonville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Bob was born August 27, 1929, the son of Jules and Patricia Dautel. He married Betty June King October 29, 1951.
Bob worked in the coal mining industry for many years before retiring as the Supervisor of the State of Illinois Mine Rescue Station in Springfield, IL. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was an avid gardener, fisherman and home winemaker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and two sisters.
Bob is survived by his wife, Betty June Dautel of Morrisonville; five children, Kathy Dautel Wexstten of Taylorville, Beverly (husband, Ken) Lipe of Raymond, Bob (wife, Barb) Dautel and Jim (wife, Dorothy) Dautel, both of Morrisonville, and Peggy (companion, Jim Hemingway) Morgan of Edinburg; seven grandchildren, Michael Denning of Taylorville, Zach Jones of Villa Rica, GA, Sara Lipe of Charlottesville, VA, Jessica Dautel of DuQuoin, Jenna Apps of Richlands, NC, Jake Dautel of Palmer, and Seth Morgan of Edinburg; two step-grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; brother, James Dautel of Franklin, NC; and sisters Delores Deickmann of Manchester, NJ, and Betty Gansbauer of Springfield, IL.
Graveside Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017, at Morrisonville Cemetery.
